Description
I had toiled for two days, battling both the elements and the disappointment of being confined to the inside of a Scottish cloud whilst camped on Fuar Tholl. Not only that, I had then watched with huge frustration as golden light bathed the landscape below me at sunset - whilst all the while, swathes of cloud swirled in front of me blocking this view from materialising. You certainly need a Fool’s Hope to persist in the mountains in such conditions. Thankfully for me, the endeavour was eventually rewarded with a rosy sunrise over the three giants of Torridon - Beinn Alligin, Liathach and Beinn Eighe… Or was it just those rose-tinted glasses?!
